Safeguarding policy

Last updated: 6 June 2026

Purpose

CleanerPal connects customers and independent cleaning professionals in Northern Ireland. This policy sets out how we respond to concerns involving vulnerable adults, children, or occupants who may be at risk during a booking. It is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions and applies to all Cleaners using the Platform.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Cleaner Pal Ltd. appoints a Designated Safeguarding Lead responsible for receiving, recording, and escalating safeguarding concerns. The DSL can be contacted at safeguarding@cleanerpal.com. Concerns are logged with date, reporter, booking reference, and action taken. The DSL reviews all reports within one working day and decides whether to suspend accounts, preserve evidence, or refer to statutory agencies.

Health and Social Care Trusts (HSCT)

In Northern Ireland, adult safeguarding is led by the five Health and Social Care Trusts. Where a concern relates to a vulnerable adult who may need statutory protection, CleanerPal may share relevant booking and account information with the appropriate HSCT safeguarding team when lawfully required. Trust contact routes are published on HSCNI. We do not investigate criminal matters ourselves; we cooperate with the PSNI and HSCT where appropriate.

Reporting concerns

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact the PSNI on 999 or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000. For non-emergency safeguarding concerns relating to a CleanerPal booking, email safeguarding@cleanerpal.com or use in-app support.

Platform response

Cleaner training and obligations

Cleaners must complete onboarding acknowledgement of this policy before receiving bookings. Cleaners must not enter a property if they believe a vulnerable person is at risk, and must report concerns before continuing work. AccessNI checks support eligibility but do not replace ongoing vigilance. Cleaners should recognise signs of neglect, coercion, or distress and report without delay.
